our addictive society

So if you look at most of our elderly, they are almost ALL on some kind of prescription drug. Why is that? I will tell you why, the pharmaceutical companies don't want people to get better. They want them to keep buying the drugs. This is not really what I wanted to talk about. I am actually talking about people addicted to their cellphones. If they are not on the damn thing they are texting. Today when I went to lunch there were 4 other people in the pizza shop 3 were texting or using their blackberry or Iphone and the 4th had a laptop computer on the table. I was the only one just there to eat a slice of pizza. Dont get me started on facebook,myspace and twitter I am telling you people are addicts. Remember the old saying everything is good in moderation.

the way I see it

Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? When I flick thru the channels on my TV and see all these trainwreck Reality shows, I cant help but wonder if that is exactly what is happening to our society. Everything seems to be so out of whack. Most of these so called reality shows like celebrity rehab or confessions of a teen idol or a double shot at love are SO dumb...I guess its an escape from your own reality of just trying to put food on the table and a roof over your head or maybe its good to see so many people are more f***** up than you are and that makes us feel good about are self. Whatever it is as long as people keep watching ...they will keep producing them. I just feel everything seems so dumbed down. Watch the movie and tell me is that where we are headed? I hate to say it but it sure does feel like it!
